LUSH TOOTHY TABS REVIEW

A little while ago I was in Liverpool, and I couldn't resist popping into LUSH once or twice..

I got all of the usual things such as bath bombs and soaps, however I came across something a little different and I just had to have it.

The item that took my eye was the toothy tabs, these are a quirky alternative to toothpaste. It is essentially toothpaste in tablet form. They come in 7 different flavours and I have to say it was a hard choice to make.

The flavours available are BOOM!, MILES OF SMILES, ORAL PLEASURE, LIMELIGHT, DIRTY, SPARKLE & BLING. Finally I settled on the above 2 flavours. We were staying in a hotel and had forgotten our toothpaste, so what better time to road test these toothy tabs!

Miles of Smiles is said to contain a mixture of 3 different mints in order to give s minty fresh taste that lasts. I have to say they certainly smell minty, however once you pop them one in your mouth and crunch it up it's not as minty as it could be. To be there was a strong taste of bicarbonate of soda.

Oral Pleasure is passion fruit flavour and I thought this would be more of a gamble as I am used to minty toothpastes. However I have to say this was very pleasant and my favourite of the 2.

These are easy to use, simply pop one into your mouth and chew, then brush your teeth with the paste that is created as a result.

Personally I prefer toothpaste in a tube and I think for £5.95 a bottle they're fairly expensive. These are great for travelling, especially as there is hand luggage restrictions on liquids and pastes. They are really easy to store and there is no worry of them squirting onto your clothes in your suitcase. I would still ensure that the lid is on tightly as there is a fair bit of powder in the bottles also.

Di Blasi Italian Cosmetics - Review

I recently contacted an Italian company called Di Blasi Cosmetics

Company founder Tatiana Puglisi very kindly responded to me and has let me test their products as shown below.

The company has 3 products which they have perfected, these are Multitasking Butter Makeup Remover, Prickly Pear and Manna Cream and their Handmade Olive Oil Soap with Etna Lava Stone

Each of the products contain beautiful natural ingredients from Sicily.

Here's my thoughts on each of the products

This is a thick oil based makeup remover, think of petroleum jelly but thicker again. I really wasn't sure how this would work as an eye makeup remover but it worked a treat. I found this was more useful as product to remove the eye makeup that your usual remover can't, I rub a cotton bud in a little of this and gently go along my eyelashes and this does a fantastic job of collecting the eye makeup that would usually be hard to remove.

In addition this isn't just an eye makeup remover, it can be used as a general moisturiser and is really good for dry patches of skin, it can be used to soothe sun burn too!

This has a really mild scent, but I think I may have detected some lemon?

This is a wonderfully thick cream, I burnt a little bit on holiday and my arms and legs have been peeling, this is quite a heavy moisturiser which has been really good on my flaking skin. It feels deeply nourishing and it smells lovely, I was particularly interested in finding out more information about the Sicilian ingredient manna that is used in this product.

Manna is a sugary sap that is derived from the trunks of the Ash tree (Fraxinus Ornus). Tatiana kindly gave me a little more information on this wonderful ingredient, more information can be found here.

Handmade Olive Oil Soap with Etna Lava Stone £7

I usually favour shower gel and haven't bought a bar of soap in at least 10 years, I have to say that I think this could be the exception.

This creates a super luxurious lather with very little effort. Once lathered on it is velvety smooth and gives a fabulously deep clean. It has a really pleasant smell, I believe it's scented with Broom.

It also contains Etna Lava rock from Sicily and this gives a really great exfoliant feel.

Overall Comments

Overall I am really impressed with all of the products that I received to try from this company and I would recommend trying them for yourself.

They would make a lovely gift for Christmas or birthdays, they are very natural and made with your health and well being in mind. There are no harsh chemicals or preservatives.

Review Items - 10 October 2015

1. Herpatch Coldsore Serum, £7.99 Boots. I applied to try this through bloggers required by using the following link - Sign up here

It is asked that the product can be reviewed within 2 weeks of receipt, whilst I may not get a coldsore in that time I will test the product out to see what it does.

2. Flint+Flint - SPF Hand Hero £24 for 75ml, can be purchased here

This smells really gorgeous and I could smell it before opening the bottle, I can't wait to try this. I am going to have this at my desk and use it as my primary hand cream for now.

3. Healthy Food Brands sent me some baking goodies and some recipes in order for me to test and review.

I said that I was a homebaker and this company kindly sent me baking products, however they are all fairly similar, whereas I know that the range consists of other more mainstream baking ingredients such as golden syrup and flavoured essences, etc.

Luckily I was also sent a recipe sheet, because malt doesn't usually feature in my baking so I am looking forward to leaving my comfort zone and trying something new.

4. Pevonia kindly sent me their winter relaxation gift box to review. This retails at £30 and can be purchased here.

This brand is very luxurious and specializes in creating that spa vibe at home. This kit is an ideal way of spending some 'me' time and generally de-stressing.

5. InstaNatural Retinol Moisturiser and Serum with 2.5% Retinol

I have tried quite a few products from this company and so far so good, as such I am expecting more great things from these guys.

I am looking forward to giving all of these things a try, so please keep checking back for my upcoming reviews!

Korres Showergels and Body Milks - Review

I was delighted to return home from my holiday to a wonderful parcel from Korres, a Greek cosmetics company with roots in Athens first Homeopathic Pharmacy.

The company prides itself on their use of herbs and science in their natural yet effective products. They are also an ethical and 'green' company, for more information and for their story please visit here.

Upon approaching Korres I had tried just one of their products, the Mint Tea Shower gel which smells sensational and can be purchased on feelunique.com. I noticed that Korres have such a diverse range of products aside from shower gels and I just knew I had to try them.

I'd like to thank Angela for her assistance throughout, she has been so helpful and has sent me review items that are so relevant to my needs and are items that I would use day to day.

I was sent Showergels, Body Milks, Facial creams and treatments, and also lip products to try.

For this review I will focus on the Shower gels and Body Milks that I have been sent to review.

The next review will relate to the lip products, and finally I will focus on the skincare items as I would like a little longer to get a feel for these so I can share as much detail with you as possible.

Waterlily Shower gel (£8 for 250ml) and Waterlily body milk (£10 for 200ml)

I wasn't sure what I would think of this as I have never smelled waterlily so had no idea what scent to expect. I wasn't disappointed, It's a fresh scent yet still fairly light. The shower gel wasn't harsh and made me feel clean without stripping my skin.

Both of the shower gels that I tried contain wheat proteins which are said to form a protective film on the skin, helping to maintain a regular hydration level.

The body milk was a great addition to my after shower routine. It's been a long while since I moisturised post shower as I am usually in a rush and don't have the time to wait for it to soak in. I was really surprised as it took next to no time to soak into my skin so I will definitely keep this routine up.

Fig Shower gel (£8 for 250ml) and Waterlily body milk (£10 for 200ml)
This shower gel and body milk combination was made for me, I love big, bold scents and these products offered exactly that. The shower gel has a super fresh scent and left me feeling awakened and invigorated. The scent was quickly embedded into my skin and left it smelling gorgeous for ages.

Again the body milk is luscious and is something that I will be making a permanent fixture in my bathroom buys!

The body milks also contain some great ingredients such as Active Aloe, B5 and Shea Butter which helps to provide long lasting hydration whilst also enhancing the skins suppleness.

I have absolutely loved trying these products and it doesn't stop there as Korres have so many more sensational sounding scents to try such as; Basil Lemon, Guava, Bergamot Pear and Mango to name a few.

These products can be purchased here and here, I recommend checking out the product range and trying some for yourself. Maybe you have already tried some Korres products, leave me a comment below and let me know what you've tried and your opinions, I'd love to hear from you.

Please check back soon for my next Korres products review!

Pantene Expert Collection Age Defy - Review

Last year I was sent these from Super Savvy Me, they sat in my cupboard for a little until one day I ran out of shampoo and gave these a try.

Initially I was out of by these as they're called age defy, however now I think of it, my hair is quite long so the tips are quite old!

I got on really well with this shampoo, it smells lovely, sort fruity with a hint of pineapple.

My hair was left feeling nice and smooth, but also noticeably hydrated and the dry ends were a little more cared for.

This retails at £5.99 for 250ml of shampoo and £5.99 for 200ml conditioner which is fairly expensive for a drugstore shampoo.

I will be sticking to my usual Tigi bedhead shampoo which comes in 700ml bottles and lasts for ages, another plus point on this is that the conditioner and shampoo are in equal proportions.

Have you tried this? please feel free to leave any comments below.

Nourish Skincare Review

Recently I was sent the below beauties to try. I absolutely love this company, I had previously tried some of their products and my opinion of those was that they smelled lovely and left my skin feeling great. The occasion where I tried them was at a beauty spa so I didn't get all the details of the products used unfortunately. This prompted me to contact the company who were really helpful and matched some great products for my skin type.

Balance Nutritious Peptide Serum £20 for 30ml -This is a truly delicious serum, it smells like a freshly bitten apple and it made my skin feel so awake and refreshed. It was lovely and hydrating without being heavy or greasy. It really was amazing how much hydration came from a product that also took seconds to dry and absorb into my skin. It has made a noticeable difference to my skin and has given it a really wonderful natural glow!

Argan Skin Renew £25 - This product doesn't have a great deal of scent and it looks like your standard cream, not too thick or thin. I applied this to my skin after using the peptide serum - it glided beautifully over my cheeks and the rest of my face, it was well absorbed and felt really light yet it really packed a punch in terms of hydration. My skin felt very cared for and this lasted for a good length of time.

Kale Enzymatic Exfoliating Cleanser £16.50 for 50ml - My guinea pigs love kale, come to think of it so do I, it tastes fantastic stir fried with sesame oil and is great in green smoothies but I had never considered applying this to my skin. This exfoliator is beautiful, so light and nourishing and with the small grains it gave a decent polish but importantly it didn't dry my skin out. The scent was beautiful, I expected it to simply smell of kale, however I sensed a hint of rose.

Finally this product can be used as a scrub, exfoliator or face scrub making it very versatile and an all round favourite.

Nourish is a fantastic company that offer a wide range of natural, vegan and organic products. Please take a look at their website to purchase or for more information on their products and to http://nourishskinrange.com/

Tranquil Earth Spa Collection Candle - Sweet Pea

This candle arrived well packaged in a sturdy box with useful instructions and a safety warning.

The glass holder that the candle comes in is nice heavy frosted glass and it looks like a quality item.

You will see from the above image that there is a little dent in the top of the candle however I'm unsure as to whether this occurred during transit. To be fair it doesn't affect use in any way and after it was lit for the first time this became a total non issue.

The scent that I chose was sweet pea and it did not disappoint.

I find that sometimes flowery scents can be too subtle and other times they can be really strong and synthetic.

This particular candle was the perfect balance and smells really fresh and lovely - and this was before it was even lit. Once lit it did a great job of diffusing the beautiful aroma throughout my house which was soothing and was also appreciated by my other half.

For £15 you get approximately 50 hours of burning time which I think is really great value. I have used this a couple of times over the last week and I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it.

I would definitely recommend this to friends and family and it's something I'd be more than happy to receive or give as a gift.

Overall I'm very impressed with this product.

Check out their other products on http://www.tranquilearth.co.uk/ they have 4 wonderful ranges to choose from which all offer some lovely scent combinations, another I would like to try is from their watercolour collection- Mango & Papaya flavour, it sounds wonderful!

These candles can also be purchased on Amazon by clicking HERE
