Result!

Last Sunday I emailed several companies to ask if they would provide me any samples for my cats to try (I also mentioned we have dogs 'family dogs').

I have had such a positive response and the companies that have given samples have been really generous.

Initially I saw thrive samples on several YouTube users videos and thought I would give some other companies a try. I went onto the pets at home website (as we have a local store so I would be able to purchase the foods locally going forward.) I went through the list of companies that sell cat food, discounted ones that we have already tried and went on from there sending emails.
Excluding those that have already been devoured ;-)

Less than a week later and I have received 40+ samples from various companies (20 from

WOW!

I went to the post office to collect my parcels and what can I say.. WOW!

It was well worth it, really generous samples of food for my cats (and dogs!) to try.

Progress on operation cat food

I have emailed some companies explaining my current situation and asking if they have any samples that I can try my cats on.

Pet Food UK Ltd (Barking heads & Meowing heads) have advised that they can send me some dog food samples, which is good my dogs can give them a go. They did say that there is a 100% money back guarantee if my cats don't like the product, I have seen that Pets at Home stock these so I will probably get some the next time I go there, if Mollie takes to the food, then brilliant and if not its good to know that I can take it back for a refund.

Thrive Pet Foods has also kindly advised me that they have posted samples out to me, I've no idea what I will receive but I look forward to it. Reviews galore to follow!

GoCat and Felix - Purina

Rating: 4/10

My cats are both rescue cats and were fed a diet of GoCat biscuits and Felix wet food (both Purina products)

This is something that initially they ate, after a little while they got bored and eventually stopped eating this all together, many different brands later we tried them on these again and at first they ate it and now they're at the stage where they don't want to touch it - I won't be getting this again.

I don't know why the cat on the bag looks so smug and is licking it's lips because these biscuits are not a popular choice with my girls. I had a little sniff of them myself and they smell exactly the same before they go in the cats as they do when they come out.. Ugghhh!

Fussy pussy cats!

I have 2 cats who are very fussy! One is OK, she will eat most things, however the other is the real fussy one. So I have tried various different foods, and what I have found is that when you try to feed them 2 different meal, they don't play ball, they want what each other has and then one eats the others food, and the other realizes they don't infact like the meal that they left there's for.

So any food ideally needs to be the same, I have tried high end food such as royal canin and it was very expensive, so felt like such a waste to have to feed it to one cat who genuine is fussy and the other who in other circumstances will eat pretty much any cat food.

I am  on a mission to find the perfect cat food (wet and dry), it has to be fairly reasonable in price and something both my girls will eat and ofcourse I would like something that is good for them and wont upset their tummies.

The above photo is a small selection of what we have tried so far and I will do a quick run through of each, i'll give a rating and a little review.
